NEW LJ [May. 7th, 2007|04:21 pm]
I've decided to start a new LJ. It will mostly just be little rants and raves about things I am feeling.

If you are really that interested you can find it at mikemoriendi.livejournal.com.

So enjoy!

[music |Dishwasher running]

Been having a pretty shitty week thus far but have forgotten to put this on here.

My new band It's Latin have posted a song on our MySpace. The song is entitled Scared Citizens are Good Citizens. If you could just take a listen if you haven't already I'd greatly appreciate it. Especially after all the shit that has happened to me this week. Friend us if you like and leave comments too. The link is here.

Thank you all!

Band...finally [Jul. 3rd, 2006|11:14 am]
So I can now offically and happily say that my new band has finally taken shape after many months of trying to find a place to practice.

Tentatively the band is called It's Latin. A funny joke that turned into the name for now. It may change, it may stick. Who knows. What matters is music is being written. They recorded 2 songs Saturday for me to begin writing lyrics to.

We are still looking for a solid bassist. So if anyone around the southern Palm Beach County area knows a bassit that wants to play heavy and crazy music send them my way.

Otherwise once we get more songs down we will record some for a CD and start playing shows. Stay tuned.

Everyone should know... [Jun. 13th, 2006|05:39 pm]

Once again I am playing with the Howmba Sowmba this Sunday at Backbone Music in Delray Beach for the awesome fest being put on by Attack Now! and Makeshift Origami. I haven't played a show in about 9 months so it would be awesome of you to come out. Plus it's going to be just a great show in general. Lots of the bands are putting out/have put out music on the above said labels. Plus two incredible touring bands from California (Comadre & Graf Orlock) will be there.

The Howmba Sowmba will also have CDs and t-shirts. All bands will have merch. Entropy will be releasing their new CD on Makeshift Origami Records. There will be awesome distros. The store has a great selection of CDs and vinyl and also have water and coffee.

I mean for $10 you are getting all those bands in a very friendly and intimate atmosphere. It will no doubt be tons of fun. So come out and have fun with me and watch me go apeshit with the Howmba.

Sunday June 18th @ the Hideout [May. 23rd, 2006|03:14 pm]
I will be playing this show with the Howmba Sowmba. This show is going to be mad fun and hilarious. If you like Yellowcard or Simple Plan, then we are not for you. Be prepared to be terrified, confused and angry. With a slight bit of fun. No fuck it, it will be all fun. There will be t-shirts and maybe CD's if we decide to record at all.

All the other bands are amazing too so it will be a fun filled Sunday for all. So please come and support great music and the Howmba Sowmba.

Basically to anyone that didn't read my MySpace bulletin [Jan. 9th, 2006|11:32 pm]
I would really like to say something of a serious matter. For maybe about 2 years I have been a supporter of the "Free the West Memphis 3" movement. Some of you know that many of you don't.

To be brief about it, in 1993 three 8 year old boys were murdered and found in some woods in West Memphis, AK. In such a small town they rarely see murder let alone a triple homicide of children. Police investigators were inadequetely processing the scene and came up with little evidence. With a town in a frenzy the police pin the blame on 3 "outcast" teenagers that have long hair, wear black clothes and listen to heavy metal music. The polic proclaim the 3 as part of a Satanic cult. A confession from one of the teens led to their arrest. But being that the teen had an IQ of 72 there were many holes in his confession. Stating different stories on numerous occasions. This questioning lasted 12 hours with no lawyer present and no parental consent as he was 17 at the time. The teen later recanted his statement saying he was pressured and just wanted to go home. In 1994 the 3 were convicted in 2 seperate trials for the murder of the 3 boys with no definitive physical evidence against them. Two of the teens received life sentances while the other received the sentence of death. For 12 years these men have been in jail for a crime they did not commit. They continue appeals to try to clear their name and return to their lives and families.

I finally got my hands on the documentary of the case entitled "Paradise Lost." I highly would recommend anyone to watch it. I will let you borrow it if you want. I have never been so disgraced in our judicial system. If you would like to learn more please visit www.wm3.org and read about the case. Educate yourself. Donate money or buy a shirt. I know I wear my shirt proudly. Yes the war is a big issue but this is in our own country that our system has imprisioned innocent men and wants to kill another one based on fear or people being different. These men have lost 12 years of their lives. If you believe in freedom please join the cause.

Thanks to those that read this all. Thanks to those that go and read up on the case. Thanks to those that donate to the cause.
